Ukraine sees no alternative to strikes on Russian military infrastructure, including oil refineries, to significantly reduce Russia's potential for aggression, as sanctions and business interests still allow Russia to finance the war.

Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office Mykhailo Podolyak sees no alternative to strikes on Russia's "military infrastructure," including oil refineries, to reduce Russia's "potential for aggression," UNN reports

To strike or not to strike? This is a rhetorical question. After all, if we do not strike at Russia's "military infrastructure," including oil refining, how can we significantly reduce its "potential for aggression"

- Podolyak said.

He noted that Ukraine's actions are quite specifically and clearly spelled out in the relevant paragraphs of international law. "Given that the 'sanctions', the business interests of private companies with white jurisdiction and international trade still leave Russia with huge market opportunities to finance aggression, what are the alternatives?"  asked the Advisor to the Head of the Office.

"Or do you still want to continue to live in existential fear of a "global third world war", voluntarily preserving the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation in full? Once again, what are the other alternatives that can effectively replace the physical destruction of Russia's raw material infrastructure to ensure war?" Podoliak reiterated.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the US reaction to the strikes on Russian energy facilities was not positive.

However, it is precisely because of drone attacks on oil refineries in Russia that exports of Russian diesel fuel have significantly decreased.

During attacks on Russian energy facilities, Ukraine began using artificial intelligence drones to help bypass air defense and electronic warfare systems.
