Vladyslav Reut, the suspect in the murder of Anastasia Berezovska, stated that he did not fire the shots. According to him, it was the other suspect - Vitaliy Zhykovych who fired four shots into the back of Berezovska's head. Reut stated this during a court hearing, reports UNN.
Details
"He took the gun from me and, standing behind her, fired the first shot into the back of her head. She fell. He fired the second shot when he moved a little closer to her, in the area of her torso, chest. He fired the second shot. At that moment, I was standing two or three meters away from them,"
He stated that Berezovska had already fallen after the first shot, after which Zhykovych removed the magazine from the pistol, took out two more cartridges.
"So there were four shots in total. He took out two more cartridges, loaded them, readied the weapon and fired two more shots. After that, he ordered me to go get a shovel and dig a hole. I returned to the car... honestly, I thought he would shoot me in the back of the head too. I hurried to the car... I see that he is not going to do anything to me. Then he bent down to Berezovska, and as I later understood, he began to search her. I took the shovel that I always had in my car, I was not prepared for this. It has been lying there since 2018. On his orders, I went to dig a hole,"
According to him, Zhykovych took two mobile phones, a watch, a lighter, a wallet from the woman, and even removed the sneakers she was wearing.
"After that, he came over, assessed the hole, how much I had managed to dig in that time. I almost vomited, I said: 'I won't do any more.' He took the shovel from me, then ordered me: 'Help me bring her.' A person who killed an unarmed woman with four shots, what could I do? Especially since I didn't have the weapon with me at that moment. It was put away in the glove compartment of the BMW on his side, because he said not to scare Anastasia. After that, we brought the body. He covered it, put branches on it, and ordered us to leave the area,"
