Max Verstappen, a Red Bull driver, received the Formula 1 champion's cup for the fourth year in a row, at a ceremony that took place for the first time in Africa. This was reported by UNN with reference to Formula 1.

The award ceremony took place in Kigali, Rwanda, where the 27-year-old Verstappen received the award from FIA President Mohamed Ben Sulayem and Rwandan President Paul Kagame. The latter had previously expressed his intention to have Rwanda host a round of the Formula 1 championship.
Verstappen, who has become one of only six drivers in history to win four or more titles since the championship began in 1950, shared his pride in his season and team. He noted that four titles is a real achievement, but he hopes for further success and does not intend to rest on his laurels.
This year's competition was very strong, but Verstappen also pointed out that a lot will change in 2026.
McLaren won the constructors' championship for the first time in 26 years. Verstappen said that the team deserved more in this championship and noted that they need to work on improvements for next year.
Participation in the Young Driver Development Program was part of Verstappen's punishment for using obscene language at the Singapore Grand Prix in October. McLaren's Lando Norris congratulated Verstappen and expressed hope for a more serious fight next year.
Sergio Perez, Verstappen's Red Bull teammate who did not take part in the ceremony due to a poor season, received the Operation of the Year award for his maneuver at the Chinese Grand Prix.
