The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) will pay additional financial assistance to low-income families in Dnipropetrovs'k, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhya regions, said Taras Melnychuk, the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, reports UNN.

According to Melnychuk, the Cabinet of Ministers agreed on the proposal of the Ministry of Social Policy to implement a joint project with the participation of the UNICEF Children's Fund on additional measures for social support of low-income families with children.
Families with children with disabilities or families with many children under the age of 18 will be eligible for additional one-time financial assistance.
The amount of financial assistance will be UAH 3,600 for 3 months for each family member of a recipient of state social assistance and UAH 6,660 for each child.
MP Oleksiy Honcharenko said that families in three regions of Ukraine will receive the assistance: Dnipro region (Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Novomoskovsk and Pavlohrad districts), Zaporizhzhia region (Zaporizhzhia district) and Kharkiv region (Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv districts).
As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine extended the program of monthly supplements to old-age pensions.
