For the first time in history, Ukrzaliznytsia's production facilities have manufactured a grain carrier adapted for the transportation of goods on the territory of Ukraine with a gauge of 1520 mm gauge and 1435 mm gauge of the European Union.
To increase exports, we must not only build border infrastructure, but also to upgrade the quantity and quality of rolling stock. For the first time in the history of Ukraine, a grain carrier was manufactured at the production facilities of Ukrzaliznytsia's production facilities, which is maximally adapted for cargo transportation on the territory of Ukraine and on the gauge of 1435 European Union countries. The new grain hopper car model 19-8005-U is designed for transportation of grain and other bulk food cargo. Its carrying capacity is 70 tons; body volume body volume is 104 cubic meters; 5 loading hatches, 6 unloading hatches; structural speed is 120 km/h.
It is reported that the grain carrier was built at the facilities of Ukrzaliznytsia, using Ukrainian components and materials to the maximum extent possible. Such railcars are planned to be to be put into mass production.
