Ukrzaliznytsia added two cars to train No. 7/8 Kyiv-Chernivtsi due to a cyberattack that made it impossible to sell tickets online. Tickets are available at ticket offices, the number of which has been increased, especially in Kyiv.

Ukrzaliznytsia continues to deal with the consequences of a cyberattack, which has now made it impossible to order tickets online. At the same time, trains continue to run. Two additional cars were added to the Kyiv-Chernivtsi train.

This is reported by UNN with reference to the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.

Despite the ongoing recovery from a large-scale cyberattack, we continue to promptly analyze requests from passengers and find opportunities to quickly include additional cars in trains on the most popular routes.

- says the statement of Ukrzaliznytsia.

The railway carrier added two cars to the train No. 7/8 Kyiv-Chernivtsi today, March 24. The train will depart from Kyiv at 20:13 and arrive in Chernivtsi at 7:59. In the opposite direction, from Chernivtsi, the train will depart tomorrow at 19:12 and arrive in Kyiv at 7:02. Tickets for the train can be purchased at Ukrzaliznytsia ticket offices.

Addition

In Kyiv, the number of open ticket offices at railway stations has been doubled. In particular, there are currently 13 ticket offices operating at the Central Railway Station of the capital. However, demand remains high, and the queues continue to be very long.

According to cyber security expert Kostyantyn Korsun, this is not the first attack by cybercriminals on Ukrzaliznytsia's services, but the company's management has not learned any lessons from it.

In his opinion, to avoid similar situations in the future, it is necessary to introduce systemic changes, primarily to cooperate with professionals who can counter such attacks.

Let us remind you that on March 23, Ukrzaliznytsia's systems were subjected to a cyberattack, and online ticket sales were suspended.

Earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia reported in Telegram that online ticket sales are temporarily unavailable due to a cyberattack on Ukrzaliznytsia's services. The company has increased the number of ticket offices at stations, especially in Kyiv, to reduce queues.

In particular, it was reported that the waiting time in the queue will take about 15 minutes.
