The Ministry of Energy denies the accident at the South Ukrainian NPP, calling it a fake. However, MP Zheleznyak received confirmation from Ukrenergo of an emergency incident on July 15 involving damage to transformers.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine emphasizes that all Ukrainian nuclear power plants are operating normally. However, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, who received a response from Ukrenergo, says that an accident did occur at the South Ukrainian NPP the other day. This was reported by UNN .

Details

The fake about the "accident at the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant" was first introduced into the Ukrainian information space by Russian propaganda in response to its own attempts to conceal the accident at the Rostov Nuclear Power Plant, which had appeared in the media earlier

- the Ministry of Energy said in a statement

The agency assures that there was no power transformer outage, which was mentioned in the fake news, at the plant. They emphasized that if such an event had occurred, it would have made it impossible to supply electricity and would indeed have led to the need to shut down the nuclear unit.

Damage to other equipment does not affect the operation of the unit and can only have a short-term (within hours) impact on the possibility of extradition. This is a direct consequence of targeted attacks by Russians on energy infrastructure facilities and abnormal weather conditions. This situation cannot be considered an "accident at a nuclear power plant". The nuclear power unit is in a working condition.
All NPPs on the government-controlled territory are operating in normal mode

- said the Ministry of Energy.

The ministry also claimed that "irresponsible politicians are trying to speculate and spread outright manipulations about the ‘accident at the nuclear power plant’.

In this regard, the Ministry of Energy asks the National Security and Defense Council and the Security Service of Ukraine to "take urgent measures to bring to justice those who attempt to play along with Russian propaganda and destabilize the socio-political situation in Ukraine.

In his turn , MP from the Voice faction Yaroslav Zheleznyaksent a request to NPC Ukrenergo.

The energy company's response to Zheleznyak indicates that on July 15, an emergency did occur at the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant, which damaged the current transformers.

As a result, the first power unit with a load of one thousand megawatts and three power lines were disconnected. A short circuit occurred in the current measuring transformer, followed by destruction and fire.

As a result, emergency power outages were introduced in the north, south, and east of Ukraine, and the duration of power outages in the central regions, including Kyiv, increased significantly

Context

Director of the Energy Research Center Oleksandr Kharchenko statedthat three current transformers burned down at the South Ukrainian NPP over the past three days.

In response , Deputy Energy Minister Mykola Kolisnyk called the information about the burned transformers at the South Ukrainian NPP an ISIS that plays into the hands of the enemy. He assured that the power system is stabilizing and emergencies are being promptly eliminated

Recall

Ukraine's Deputy Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk said that all nuclear power plants in Ukraine are operating normallywithout technological violations and without any excess of radiation pollution.
