Between November 28 and December 5 this year, Ukrainians in Poland and Germany provided 165 DNA samples to search for their relatives who went missing under special circumstances. This was reported to UNN journalist by the Office of the Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in response to a request.

It is reported that in the period from November 28, 2023 to December 5, 2023, in agreement with the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine, employees of the International Commission on Missing Persons conducted a campaign to collect DNA samples of biological origin from relatives of persons missing under special circumstances living abroad.
"During the specified period of time, 165 DNA samples were provided by relatives of persons missing under special circumstances. Most of them - 49 DNA samples - were taken in Warsaw, the Republic of Poland," the response to the request reads.

It is noted that the selected DNA samples were subsequently transferred to the pre-trial investigation bodies of the National Police of Ukraine for the appointment of appropriate forensic examinations, which will establish the number of matches found in the Central Register of Human Genetic Traits.
"The issue of further data collection abroad, dates and locations is still to be decided," the company said in response to the request.
