The ferry Slavyanin, which was hit by Ukraine during the attack on the port of Kavkaz in Crimea, supplied the occupation groups on the peninsula and in southern Ukraine. After the vessel's destruction, the Sea of Azov was deprived of Russian warships. This was reported by the spokesman of the Ukrainian Navy Dmytro Pletenchuk in a commentary to Suspilne Krym, reports UNN.
Details
Pletenchuk pointed out that Slavyanin used to run from the port of Kavkaz to Varna in Bulgaria. However, after the loss of the previous two ferries, the Russians were forced to withdraw it from this route and put it on an "internal" route to connect the Russian railroad with the railway occupied in Crimea.
According to him, the ferry was an important element of the occupiers' military logistics. It supplied groups in the occupied Crimea and the occupied territories of southern Ukraine.
According to Pletenchuk, the Russian armed forces do not dare to use the bridge for such purposes, and the railroad has not yet been completed.
"Now they will somehow solve the problem of breaking this chain. His defeat was not accidental. In addition, after this defeat, they realized that this is no joke. As for the fact that Ukraine controls the Azov Sea with fire: this was once said by the Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, but the Russians did not believe it. But after this strike, they realized that it was true," Pletenchuk said.
Recall
On July 23, the Ukrainian Navy, together with other units of the Defense Forces, severely damaged the enemy ferry Slavyanin in the port of Kavkaz, which was used for military purposes. This is the third and last railroad ferry that Russia had in the region.
According to British intelligence, Ukraine's destruction of the Russian ferry Slavyanin in the port of Kavkaz will create additional logistical problems for Russia in supplying the occupation forces in southern Ukraine and exporting liquefied petroleum gas.
