The SBU and police detained two young men in Lviv who were setting fire to Ukrainian military vehicles on the orders of the FSB.

The Security Service and the National Police have prevented new attempts by the Russian Federal Security Service to undermine the socio-political situation in western Ukraine. In Lviv, young men who were preparing a series of arson attacks on Ukrainian soldiers' cars on the instructions of the aggressor were detained, the SBU press service reports, according to UNN.

The defendants were two local residents aged 17 and 18 who were looking for "easy" money on Russian Telegram channels,

On one of the public pages, the FSB representative promised the defendant a quick income in exchange for cooperation. On his instructions, the young man first searched for the "right" cars and then secretly took pictures of them. After receiving the media files, the Russian secret service gave "permission" to destroy potential targets.

According to this algorithm, the defendant set fire to the car of a serviceman of a combat brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

To commit the crime, the attacker used a bottle of kerosene and an incendiary device to pour it on the vehicle. This was a "test" task for the FSB, after which the curator gave a new order to involve more young men in a series of arsons of AFU vehicles throughout the city. Later, a 17-year-old accomplice was involved in the illegal scheme.

During subsequent crimes, the perpetrators were supposed to film the burning of vehicles for "reporting" purposes. In case of receiving the video, the occupiers planned to use it to create a media image of the alleged existence of an anti-Ukrainian underground in Lviv. To do this, the aggressor planned to involve the maximum number of controlled information resources.

SBU CI officers and the National Police detained both criminals during the arson attack on an Armed Forces vehicle. SBU officers seized mobile phones used to communicate with the curator and incendiary mixtures prepared for committing crimes.

Currently, both suspects have been served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations). The offenders are in custody. The investigation is ongoing. They face up to 8 years in prison.
