Ukrainian high jumper Oleh Doroshchuk became the bronze medalist of the Diamond League stage in Doha, the capital of Qatar. For the current world indoor champion, this was the first start of the summer season. This was reported by UNN with reference to the NOC of Ukraine.
Details
Doroshchuk confidently competed, clearing heights of 2.12 m, 2.15 m, 2.20 m, and 2.24 m without any mistakes on his first attempts. Earlier, the Ukrainian was supposed to start the season at the stage in Rome, but was forced to withdraw due to health issues.
Only Doroshchuk and Italian Matteo Sioli cleared the bar at 2.24 m on their first attempts, allowing the Ukrainian to remain among the contenders for medals alongside Qatari Mutaz Barshim. The height of 2.27 m did not yield to the Ukrainian athlete this time, and he finished in third place.
This award continues Doroshchuk's successful series at Diamond League stages. Since 2024, the Ukrainian has already won six medals at individual stages of the prestigious series — one gold, one silver, and four bronze, as well as twice becoming the silver medalist of the tournament finals.
