Ukraine received almost $600 million under a World Bank project, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported on Wednesday on social media, writes UNN.
Almost $600 million US dollars have been received into the State Budget of Ukraine to finance social payments to the most vulnerable categories of citizens
According to her, the funds were provided by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The financing includes $300 million US dollars supported by Japanese guarantees, as well as $298.75 million US dollars supported by bilateral guarantees from the UK government. The total volume of the SPIRIT project is $880 million US dollars.
The project, the Prime Minister noted, will cover over 1 million Ukrainians in need of social support.
"To receive financing within the framework of the joint project with the World Bank SPIRIT, the government fulfilled all necessary conditions," Svyrydenko stated.
The financing within the project, she reported, will cover 18 types of social payments, including assistance to families with children, children with severe illnesses, orphans in family-type children's homes and foster families, persons with disabilities, large families, payment for the "municipal nanny" service, childcare assistance until the child reaches one year of age, the "eYasla" program, as well as other social support programs financed from the state budget and not related to military purposes.
