Ukraine invests nearly UAH 1 billion in the development of explosives production. Six Ukrainian companies will receive funding under the first grant competition of the Brave1 defense innovation cluster. This was reported by Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, writes UNN.
Details
According to him, the total cost of the projects is UAH 944 million, of which UAH 620 million – is state co-financing. Each enterprise will be able to produce at least 7 tons of explosives per month, with the possibility of further increasing volumes.
Fedorov emphasized that there is currently a global shortage of explosives, while they are critically important for Ukraine for the production of ammunition, drones, missiles, and other means of destruction.
Over three years of operation, Brave1 has become the largest venture defense-tech investor in Europe, issuing nearly 1,000 grants totaling over UAH 5.8 billion. Today, the ecosystem unites over 2,500 companies and more than 5,000 defense developments.
The minister also reported that the grant program has been updated, adding 53 new technological priorities.
Among them – materials for missiles, autonomous and swarm drones, precision-guided munitions, underwater unmanned vehicles, electronic warfare systems, laser weapons, and other promising areas. Ukrainian developers can receive grants from UAH 500,000 to UAH 8 million.
In addition, a special BraveTech EU program is launching to support breakthrough defense technologies, and under the Brave Prime initiative, Ukraine will cooperate with global defense manufacturers. The first partners were SAAB and Airbus.
According to Fedorov, the state continues to develop the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex to increase the production of modern weapons and technologies for the needs of the front.
