Ukraine has increased its own capabilities for striking the Crimean Bridge. This is reported by the UK Ministry of Defence, citing a British intelligence report, informs UNN.
Details
It is noted that on the night of June 20, Ukrainian forces struck the temporarily occupied Crimea and the crossing over the Kerch Strait. Among the targets were air defense systems, fuel depots, and three vehicle ferries.
The disabling of three ferries at a time when the southern land corridor to Crimea is contested has almost certainly exacerbated growing supply problems in Crimea. There is now widespread fuel shortages and delays at checkpoints
It is indicated that security protocols adopted after the first Ukrainian attack on the Crimean Bridge in October 2022 mean that trucks can only use the ferries, not the bridge. At the same time, Ukraine has previously attacked the two remaining railway ferries, which also provide military logistics and are almost certainly under repair.
"The wide range of Ukrainian strikes is also degrading Russian air defense even in well-known priority locations, such as the Kerch Strait. This increases Ukraine's capabilities for attacking the Crimean Bridge, a strategic and politically sensitive target," British intelligence concludes.
Recall
On the night of June 25, the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked 38 targets in Crimea. Among the struck objects are the Tavriyska Thermal Power Plant, an oil depot in Dzhankoi, and gas compressor stations.
