On Wednesday, July 1, the comprehensive economic partnership agreement between Ukraine and the UAE came into force, laying a modern foundation for the development of bilateral trade in goods and services and providing for the creation of a free trade zone between the countries. As reported by the State Customs Service, starting today, July 1, 2026, the comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the government of Ukraine and the government of the United Arab Emirates, signed on February 17, 2025 in Abu Dhabi and ratified by the law of Ukraine dated February 26, 2026 No. 4802-IX, comes into force.
The agreement lays a modern foundation for the development of bilateral trade in goods and services and provides for the creation of a free trade zone between Ukraine and the UAE by abolishing customs duties. This opens preferential access to the market of the United Arab Emirates for Ukrainian producers and will contribute to expanding the geography of exports of domestic products
The document also provides for deepening cooperation between the customs administrations of Ukraine and the UAE. In particular, the parties plan to conclude an Agreement on Mutual Customs Assistance, which will become the basis for information exchange, prevention and investigation of violations of customs legislation, etc.
