During a meeting between Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwai, Ukraine and Japan signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation in the field of information security. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, UNN reports.

The parties also discussed the prospects of Ukrainian-Japanese cooperation and the strengthening of sanctions against Russia.

Japan is among the leaders in supporting Ukraine. The total amount of assistance has already reached $12.1 billion. Support for the energy sector is particularly important to us. We are grateful for the energy equipment donated and look forward to further assistance,

- Shmyhal noted.

He added that another key area of cooperation is humanitarian demining. Shmyhal noted Tokyo's intention to allocate $3 billion from the use of frozen Russian assets as part of the G7 initiative.
