Kyiv has accumulated over UAH 10 billion to implement the resilience plan; the restoration of energy facilities is 65% complete. The city has contracted equipment to replace combined heat and power plants with a capacity of over 1,000 MW.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the state of restoration and construction of facilities and capacities as part of the capital's "Resilience Plan." He reported this on Telegram, UNN reports.

Details

According to Klitschko, it was possible to attract UAH 5.2 billion, including funds from international partners. He added that the capital also received assistance in this area from the Office of the President of Ukraine.

As of today, the city has already accumulated more than UAH 10 billion to implement the plan. We plan to add funds both through borrowing and by reallocating the city budget

- he noted.

The Mayor of Kyiv added that the priority task for the start of the heating season is restoring the damaged energy facilities.

The level of work completion is 65%, as the scale of the destruction after the shelling was enormous. Nevertheless, we plan to complete the necessary work plan by the beginning of the heating season. In particular, the Level II engineering and technical protection. The total cost of the measures is UAH 6.6 billion

- Klitschko said.

In addition, the city allocated UAH 800 million to repair electrical equipment in residential buildings. At the same time, DTEK is replacing external power grids and reinforcing substations at 120 facilities.

Thanks to the city's programs, more than 2,000 buildings in the capital have already implemented energy resilience measures. The capital allocated almost UAH 500 million for this area

- Klitschko stated.

According to Klitschko, the most challenging part of the Plan is building a backup heating supply system.

On the scale of Kyiv, replacing only the combined heat and power plants amounts to 2.1 GW. Based on a 50/50 ratio  the city has contracted equipment and started work at facilities with a total capacity of more than 1,000 MW. The Restoration Agency is working on facilities with a capacity of 564 MW

 - Klitschko summarized.
