Two young men involved in the murder of 16 teenagers are to be tried in Odesa. One offender faces up to 15 years in prison, and the other faces a fine or community service or correctional labor. This was reported by UNN with reference to the National Police.

The department said that the incident occurred on May 6 this year on Varnenska Street.
During the pre-trial investigation, the police found that on that tragic evening, two underage Odesa residents were in a hurry to get home before the curfew.

One of the attackers, a 20-year-old local resident, attacked one of the young men with his fists. The victim tried to defend himself with a tear spray, but the young man knocked him to the ground and beat him, causing abrasions. According to the conclusions of a forensic medical examination, the boy's injuries were classified as light.
The beaten boy managed to escape and ask for help from a private security company. At that time, another attacker was "dealing" with another student and stabbed him in the chest during the fight.
When the beaten young man returned, his friend was lying on the ground bleeding, and the company of strangers was gone. He called an ambulance, and the guards tried to provide the wounded Odesa resident with first aid, but unfortunately, he died before the paramedics arrived. According to the results of the forensic medical examination, the guy's death was caused by a stab wound to the chest with damage to the pericardial sac and heart with hemorrhage into the pericardial sac and pleural cavity
By the morning, operatives and investigators of the territorial police unit, together with officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the regional police, identified all the participants in the conflict, including the offender who had fatally stabbed the young man.
He was a 24-year-old Kharkiv resident. He was detained in a rented apartment in the Khadzhibey district of Odesa. During the investigation, the young man said that he had thrown the weapon on the canopy over the entrance of a residential building near the scene.
Law enforcement officers seized the knife and attached it to the case as material evidence.
Based on the results of the investigation, under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv District Prosecutor's Office of Odesa, we have charged the defendants, depending on the crime. One of them is charged under Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine with intentional unlawful death of another person. For this crime, the accused faces seven to fifteen years in prison. According to him, the second suspect was charged under Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code with intentional light bodily harm. This offense is punishable by a fine of up to UAH 850, or community service for up to two hundred hours, or correctional labor for up to one year.
