The Rostov region of the Russian Federation was subjected to a massive drone attack on the night of July 8. Two tankers were damaged in the Taganrog Bay, and two people were reportedly injured. This was stated by the governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, writes UNN.

According to the Russian official, the tankers were heading to Rostov-on-Don. The crew had to be evacuated from one of the vessels. Two people sustained minor injuries: one received medical assistance on the spot, the other was taken to a hospital, but both refused hospitalization.
Slyusar claims that the tankers were empty, so no oil product spill occurred. Information about other consequences of the attack is being clarified.
The governor also stated that air defense forces allegedly destroyed about 70 drones. According to him, 11 districts of the Rostov region, the cities of Novoshakhtinsk and Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, as well as the waters of the Taganrog Bay came under attack.
At the same time, he noted that the danger of drone attacks in the Rostov region persists.
