In Kyiv, two men have been exposed and are suspected of a series of nighttime thefts from retail pavilions selling tobacco products. According to the prosecutor's office, nearly 2,000 packs of cigarettes with a total value of about 300,000 UAH were seized from them. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, according to UNN.
Under the procedural guidance of the Desnianskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, two men have been notified of suspicion for committing thefts from retail pavilions selling tobacco products (Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It was established that during the night, the accomplices smashed the display window of a kiosk in the Lisovyi neighborhood and stole tobacco products and goods worth nearly 300,000 UAH. The men loaded all the stolen items into a car. In total, 1,944 packs of cigarettes were seized from them.
One of the suspects has several prior convictions for committing crimes for personal gain.
The men's actions are classified as theft involving breaking and entering into premises under martial law.
They face between 5 and 8 years of imprisonment.
