I had a longer conversation with President Zelensky yesterday. We have agreed with the Ukrainian president on a visit and a return visit in the coming days. I will be in Ukraine at the beginning of the year. President Zelensky will come to us at this important moment, when Poland will take over the presidency of the EU Council
On December 10, Tusk said that peace talks on the war in Ukraine could begin this winter, and that his country is committed to playing a leading role in ending the conflict.
"I will have a number of conversations that will primarily concern the situation on our eastern border. As you can imagine, our delegation will be responsible, among other things, for what the political calendar will look like, perhaps what the situation will be during the negotiations, which may, although it is still in question, start this winter," Tusk said.
