This invention is not the first in the world - similar devices were produced by other companies. But here attention is drawn to the fact that this chip was made by the company of a famous American businessman and inventor.
In September 2023, Noland's friend told about the development of Neuralink, and already in January 2024, the chip was implanted in the young man's body. This device is capable of converting human thoughts into computer commands. The brain-computer interface works by detecting tiny electrical impulses - they are formed when people think about moving, and turning them into a digital command, such as moving a cursor on the screen.
Noland Arbaugh worked as a counselor at Island Lake Camp in Pennsylvania in 2016. During a swim in the lake, he was paralyzed - he began to drown and lost consciousness. He was pulled ashore and diagnosed in the hospital with paralysis of the entire body below the neck.
