Details
The publication has reviewed internal training materials from the US Department of Homeland Security, according to which manifestations of antisemitism may become an official reason for denying a residence permit - in particular, participation in pro-Palestinian rallies on university campuses and social media posts criticizing Israel's actions. Green cards may also be denied for desecration of the American flag.
In the recommendations for immigration service employees, the administration describes participation in pro-Palestinian protests and criticism of Israel as "predominantly negative" factors
The authors add that the number of approved green card applications in the US has decreased by more than half over the past months.
