U.S. President Donald Trump said that the United States has a "huge amount" of ammunition following media reports about the depletion of the Pentagon's stockpiles, UNN writes.

"The U.S. has a huge amount of "ammunition," especially of certain types. In addition, a large quantity of it is being produced and supplied to the U.S. as needed," Trump wrote on Truth Social early Thursday morning.
He did not specify which ammunition he was referring to.
"Defense companies are building the largest number of plants and factories in the history of our country," he added.
"The ‘whistleblowers’ spreading these treasonous statements are being tracked down. Lengthy prison sentences will be sought!" Trump said.

On Tuesday, CNN reported, among other things, that the U.S. military had used up nearly 80% of its interceptor missiles for its key THAAD missile defense system, and that senior U.S. military commanders had warned that the Pentagon's ammunition stockpiles were "dangerously low," according to multiple sources.
