President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday welcomed his American counterpart Donald Trump in the capital Ankara, where a two-day NATO summit began. Anadolu Ajansı reports this, writes UNN.

Erdoğan personally greeted Trump upon his arrival at Esenboğa Airport.
Later, an official welcoming ceremony will take place at the presidential complex, after which the leaders will hold bilateral talks and delegation meetings on regional and international issues.
It is also expected that the leaders will hold a press conference.

Earlier on Tuesday, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine visited Anıtkabir — the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic. Caine, accompanied by the U.S. delegation, observed a moment of silence in memory of Atatürk, after which he laid a wreath at his mausoleum.
Heads of state and government of NATO countries, as well as leaders of key partner nations, are meeting in Ankara for the Alliance's 2026 summit. The main topics of the meeting will be the fulfillment of defense spending commitments agreed upon at last year's meeting in The Hague, continued military support for Ukraine, and the expansion of defense industry production.
