The activation of the Russian DRG over the past few months in Sumy region may be related to an attempt to divert additional forces of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. This opinion was expressed to the journalist UNN by a military expert, development director of the information and consulting company Defense Express Valery Ryabykh.
The situation is connected in these areas with an attempt to divert additional forces of the Defense Forces so that they are not used in other areas. Earlier it was reported by border guards and intelligence that a strike group has not yet been concentrated in this direction. Recently, the enemy, in addition to intensifying the actions of sabotage and reconnaissance groups, is also actively using planning bombs there, and we see that a lot of peaceful infrastructure has been destroyed. According to him, the Russians are not yet able to create sufficient groups to conduct active actions in this direction.
"In general, from the information I have come across, there are no signs that an additional direction may be activated in this direction, we are not talking about this. Perhaps later, after some time, but now from what can be observed, the enemy does not manage to create sufficient groups to conduct active, not to mention offensive actions, but active actions, in more than two directions," Ryabykh said.
In addition, Ryabykh noted that the enemy now has quite a lot of problems to strengthen its offensive potential.
"Moreover, the offensive that the enemy launched in early October is now losing momentum, and this is due to the depletion of enemy forces and assets due to the active work of the Defense Forces to destroy enemy groups. In such conditions, it can be difficult for the enemy to create an additional group that would be, firstly, capable, secondly, concentrated unnoticed by the Defense Forces," Ryabykh said.
