There are enough funds for the security and defense sector. This was stated by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergiy Marchenko in an interview with "We-Ukraine", UNN reports .
Details
He said that due to delays in the supply of weapons earlier this year, the government was forced to redirect some funds from other sectors to purchase weapons.
Indeed, due to the delay in the supply of weapons, we had to withdraw part of the funds from the end of the year and reallocate them to different areas of weapons procurement. We did this in the first quarter, the second quarter, and this created the need for us to make additional changes to the budget and provide for additional expenditures to cover these needs by the end of the year, so that we can fully provide our Armed Forces and other military formations with the necessary resources,
At the same time, Marchenko added that there are enough funds for the needs of the military, but certain decisions of the Verkhovna Rada are needed to ensure that this continues.
At the moment, we cannot say that we are providing the Armed Forces with everything they need. But we are providing them with the necessary capabilities in the conditions we have. I can say for sure that all the taxes and fees we collect go to the security and defense sector. But this is not enough. That's why we borrow from the market and direct these funds to the security and defense sector. That's why we have enough money today. I hope that in the near future the Parliament will make the necessary decision and we will secure funding by the end of the year,
