The Sykhiv District Court of Lviv has chosen a preventive measure for 23-year-old Oleh Havrylov, suspected of attacking police officers during clashes in Sykhiv on the night of July 9, in the form of detention for 60 days without the right to bail, writes UNN.

During the court hearing, the prosecution insisted on arrest without the alternative of bail, while the defense asked to place the suspect under round-the-clock house arrest with an electronic bracelet.

As an alternative option, the lawyers also proposed detention with the possibility of bail in the amount of 30 subsistence minimums.

The court granted the prosecutors' motion and ordered Havrylov to be taken into custody for 60 days without the right to bail.

During the hearing, the suspect stated that he regrets what he did.

The incident occurred on the evening of July 8 in Lviv, in the Sykhiv district. A crowd tried to "free" a man from the military enlistment office workers under shouts of "shame" and began to beat the official vehicle of the military enlistment office, which, according to local media reports, was overturned. The police and the local military enlistment office stated that the conflict arose due to the detention of a military-liable man who was wanted.

About 200 civilians took part in the clashes involving the crowd, the military enlistment office, and the police in Lviv, reported the Prosecutor General's Office.

Within a day after the events in Lviv, a 23-year-old man who was an active participant in the unrest on the night of July 9 was identified and detained. As reported by the Prosecutor General's Office, he is suspected of beating a police officer.
