The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a Law that improves state market surveillance according to EU standards. This was reported by UNN with reference to the website of the Ukrainian parliament.
Details
According to Law No. 12426, the implementation of this regulatory act will increase the effectiveness of control over product safety on the market and strengthen responsibility for violating established standards.
Inspections and control will be the same for goods in traditional stores and for products sold through online platforms - marketplaces will be under the same supervision.
In addition, this law expands the state's ability to quickly respond to consumer complaints, protecting their rights to safe and high-quality products. As people's deputies noted, for citizens of Ukraine this means better protection from dangerous and low-quality products, as well as more transparent rules for market functioning.
For businesses, this means equal conditions of competition and new opportunities to enter European markets, which will contribute to economic growth and increased well-being.
Recall
The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading the second bill from the IMF package - on the taxation of digital platforms. It was supported by 234 deputies: the new rules will not affect small sellers of goods up to 2000 euros per year.
