The Parliament adopts a draft law to increase the excise tax on fuel

Parliament passed in the second reading a bill to increase the excise tax on fuel, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said on Thursday, UNN reports .

"The Parliament passed the draft law 11256-2 on raising the shareholder tax on fuel. The amendment (No. 267) on gas was also supported. The total number of votes was 231," Zheleznyak said.

The draft law provides for a gradual increase in the excise tax on motor fuels.

In particular, from September 1 to January 1, 2025, the excise tax rate for gasoline should be 242.6 euros per 1,000 liters, for diesel 177.6 euros, and for gas 148 euros.

In 2025, the excise tax on gasoline will be 271.7 euros, diesel 215.7 euros, and gas 173 euros. In 2026, it will be 300.8 euros for gasoline, 253.8 euros for diesel, and 198 euros for gas. In 2027, the price for gasoline will be 329.9 euros, diesel - 291.9 euros, and gas - 223 euros.

In 2028, the excise tax rate for gasoline is expected to be EUR 359, for diesel - EUR 330, and for gas - EUR 250.

The draft law on increasing the excise tax on fuel was passed in the first reading in early June. For the second reading, changes were made to the excise tax on gas, which was supposed to be EUR 55.6 this year.
