There have been three knife attacks in Berlin in the last 24 hours, indicating a significant increase in such incidents in the German capital, according to the latest statistics.

On Sunday night, an incident occurred in Berlin at the entrance to the Jannowitzbrücke subway station, during which a man was stabbed. This was at least the third serious knife attack in the city in the last 24 hours of this weekend.
Additionally, an attack was reported in the Neukölln district, where one of the victims was shot in the neck. Another incident occurred near the Leopoldplatz metro station in the Vedding district, where approximately 20 people attacked two men, one of the attackers also using a knife.
Berlin's Charité Clinic expressed concern as the first half of 2024 saw as many cases of stabbings as are usually recorded for the entire year.
According to Berlin's criminal statistics, in 2023, knives were used in crimes 3,482 times, which is 165 more cases than in the previous year. Every third victim was under the age of 21.
National police data also indicate a steady increase in the number of knife attacks.
