According to two anonymous sources in the healthcare sector, around 30 more people were injured. The Houthis said they had attacked government positions with ballistic missiles and drones.
According to representatives of the group, the attack was a response to an alleged buildup of government forces, which they claim is taking place with the support of Saudi Arabia.
The Yemeni government condemned the attack and said it would respond "in the appropriate place and at the appropriate time."
