The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved measures to attract EUR 4.5 million in grants for housing repairs from the IBRD and the International Development Association, as well as additional assistance initiatives that are currently being implemented. Prime Minister Shmyhal emphasized the ongoing international support for the recovery efforts.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted two decisions that will allow attracting additional resources for the reconstruction of Ukraine. In particular, it is a question of attracting 4.5 million euros of grant funds from the IBRD and the International Development Association to repair damaged housing.  This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, quoted by the Government Portal, UNN reports.

"The first is changes to the grant agreement with the EIB on the modernization of the water supply and sewage system in Mykolaiv. The amount of the grant will be increased from 5 to 8 million euros. The second decision is to attract 4.5 million euros in grants from the IBRD and the International Development Association to repair damaged housing," Shmyhal said.

The Prime Minister noted that Ukraine and USAID also continue to cooperate fruitfully in all key areas. One of the most recent initiatives is a partnership with Ukrzaliznytsia to integrate it into the Trans-European Transport Network. A total of $225 million will be allocated for the construction of a 75 km double-track railroad section.

"We are also rebuilding hospitals and outpatient clinics so that people have universal access to medical services. After the Russian invasion, 847 healthcare facilities have already been fully or partially restored," Shmyhal emphasized.

The Prime Minister thanked all the partners who support the initiatives to rebuild Ukraine. Thus, the British Government will help restore bridges in Kyiv region, the German Government provides funds for soft loans to IDPs, and Japan has announced the allocation of $4.5 billion for reconstruction programs. [On December 11, the IMF Executive Board approved the second review of the EFF program for Ukraine, which paves the way for Ukraine to receive another tranche of almost $900 million.
