The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine condemned the attack on servicemen of the territorial center for recruitment and social support in Lviv, stating that such actions undermine the state's defense capability. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported conducting an internal investigation into the legality of the actions of the military personnel themselves, reports UNN.
Details
The General Staff emphasized that the events in Lviv bear signs of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under martial law.
"The events that occurred in Lviv bear signs of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the legal regime of martial law. We call on law enforcement agencies to ensure a comprehensive, objective, and impartial investigation of this case, and to bring the perpetrators to justice in accordance with the requirements of current legislation," the statement reads.
At the same time, the General Staff noted that an internal investigation is ongoing regarding the legality of the actions of the servicemen of the TCC and SP.
"If violations are established, the guilty persons will be held accountable in the manner prescribed by law," the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized.
The General Staff also stressed that no disputes regarding the legality of actions of officials or servicemen can be grounds for the use of violence, and a legal assessment of such cases should be provided exclusively by authorized state bodies.
Separately, the military command drew attention to the fact that notification measures are carried out precisely by servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, many of whom have combat experience, and not by civilian "TCC workers," as they are often mistakenly called.
The General Staff called on citizens not to succumb to provocations and disinformation, to act strictly within the law, and to support the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Recall
The National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine are conducting pre-trial investigations into the events in Lviv, where a crowd blocked, damaged, and overturned a service vehicle of TCC military personnel.
The incident occurred on July 8 in Lviv, in the Sykhiv district. A crowd attempted to "free" a man from TCC workers amid shouts of "shame" and began beating the TCC service vehicle, which, according to local media reports, was overturned. The police and the local TCC stated that the conflict arose due to the detention of a military-liable man who was wanted.
The head of the Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported at night that "an urgent meeting was held with law enforcement officers regarding the situation with the blocking of TCC vehicles in Sykhiv."
The Head of the Office of the President, former head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, reacted to the conflict involving the crowd and TCC representatives in Lviv, stating that he expects a "fair" response from law enforcement agencies.
About 200 civilians took part in the clashes involving the crowd, TCC, and police in Lviv, reported the Office of the Prosecutor General, stating that an investigation has been launched into the incident involving servicemen, police, and civilians.
