The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike on Russia’s Ilsky and Syzran oil refineries and an observation post on the "Syvash" drilling rig, reports UNN.

"On the night of August 8, 2026, as part of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of the Russian aggressor, units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a number of important enemy facilities," the General Staff said in a statement.
Ilsky Oil Refinery LLC in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai was hit. A strike on the facility was recorded, followed by a fire on the premises
Ilsky Oil Refinery has six processing units with a total refining capacity of approximately 6.6 million tonnes of oil per year. The enterprise receives, stores, and processes hydrocarbon feedstock, and produces and ships petroleum products. The enterprise’s products are used, in particular, to meet the needs of the Russian armed forces.
JSC Syzran Oil Refinery in Syzran, Samara region, Russia, was also hit. A strike on the facility was recorded, followed by a fire on the premises
Syzran Oil Refinery is part of Rosneft’s oil complex. The enterprise’s design capacity is approximately 8.5 million tonnes of oil per year. The refinery produces more than 20 types of petroleum products, including motor fuels and road bitumen. The enterprise is one of the key facilities of the oil-refining industry in Samara region and supplies fuel, in particular, to meet the needs of the Russian armed forces.

The "Syvash" jack-up drilling rig is used by the enemy to deploy technical surveillance equipment and ensure its operation in the Black Sea.
The extent of the damage caused and the results of the strikes on the enemy’s facilities are being clarified.
