The Court of General Jurisdiction of the European Union rejected the appeal of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS) against the decision to ban the registration of the trademark "Russian warship, go ...". This is stated in the verdict of the EU court, UNN reports with reference to Deutsche Welle.
Details
According to the court's ruling, the phrase is now a political slogan, having become "a symbol of Ukraine's struggle against Russian aggression" shortly after it was first uttered. "Therefore, it will not be perceived by the relevant public as an indication of the commercial origin of the goods and services it denotes," the court ruled.

Back in 2022, the State Border Guard Service tried to register a trademark for this expression in the European Union for a wide range of goods, including clothing, printed materials, various accessories, etc. However, in December 2023, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) refused to register the trademark for a number of reasons, including the moral side of the issue.
The State Tax Service disagreed with the European regulator's decision and appealed the ruling to the EU court. Today's verdict can also be appealed to a higher court.
