For the third year in a row, the enemy has been trying to destroy Ukraine's infrastructure, and Odesa region is no exception. However, despite Russia's attempts, the region continues to function, businesses are open, and residents of Odesa region are preparing for the beach season. This was stated by the first deputy head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Kharlov, according to UNN.

The main target of the enemy is port, transportation and energy infrastructure, he says.

"If we talk about the operational situation in the region, it is consistently difficult. Since we cannot predict the enemy's actions, they constantly expose the population of Odesa region to missile and drone strikes and constantly terrorize our region. The situation is difficult, but it is under control. Thanks to our air defense forces, the military, and the courage of our civilians. We are taking all the appropriate measures together with the military command of the region to ensure that the port infrastructure can be protected by air defense forces. It is constantly under enemy rocket fire from our enemy," Kharlov said.

He added that the regional and state authorities are taking all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of the grain corridor and the region's grain initiative.

"We are well aware that more than 400 million people worldwide, in 70 countries, need our agricultural products. Therefore, we ensure the safety of both cargo and ships as much as possible," he said.

Kharlov also commented on the situation with migration in the region, pointing out that there is none.

"Fortunately, we do not observe a steady migration of Odesa region residents. Sometimes, when the systematic nature of massive rocket attacks increases, people react by leaving the city of Odesa, the suburbs, and other areas of Odesa region. But this is temporary, people come back," he said.

The deputy head of the Odesa Regional State Administration also spoke about the regional authorities' support for local business development.

"We are trying to assist Odesa region businesses in securing transport corridors and in the movement of special vehicles during the curfew. We take an individual and objective approach to each such situation," he says.

Kharlov also spoke about Odesa region's preparations for the holiday season.

"Last year, vacationers, residents of Odesa region, and guests of the region were provided with recreation on 6 beaches. The Black Sea. Today, the head of the regional state administration has signed an order instructing three districts of Odesa Oblast - Izmail, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi and Odesa - to conduct an inspection and relevant preparatory work for the holiday season to ensure the safety of people's stay and recreation. The deadline is two weeks. In early May, this work should be completed and we will understand which beaches will be accessible and safe for our citizens," he added.
