The debt of the population to the Kyivteploenergo utility company is more than UAH 7 billion, of which UAH 4.3 billion is for heat and UAH 2.7 billion is for hot water. This is reported by Kyivteploenergo, UNN reports.
"The debt of the population to Kyivteploenergo is over UAH 7 billion. Of these, UAH 4.3 billion is for heat and UAH 2.7 billion for hot water. This is despite the fact that the vast majority of Kyiv residents pay for utilities in good faith," the statement said.
It is noted that about 70% of the debt is accounted for by 160 thousand personal accounts (about 15% of all customers). As a rule, these are owners of luxury real estate, large apartments, or owners of several dwellings.
"Practice shows that only penalties have an impact on chronic debtors. Therefore, Kyivteploenergo is forced to charge a penalty. In November, more than 90 thousand customers received it in the amount of more than UAH 6 million," Kyivteploenergo added.
Recall
The Cabinet of Ministers approved criteria for heat and water suppliers whose debts can be restructured. In particular, companies whose infrastructure has been destroyed or damaged may be eligible for debt restructuring.
