The commander of the artillery battalion of one of the military units carrying out combat missions in the Kharkiv sector was suspected of selling more than 100 kg of TNT. The court remanded the suspect in custody with the option of bail, UNN reports, citing the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The man is accused of illegally acquiring, storing and selling explosives and components for ammunition without the permit required by law (Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the serviceman sold more than 100 kg of TNT and fuzes for tube artillery ammunition twice, receiving a total of UAH 240,000 for them.
Law enforcement officers documented the first sale in June 2026. According to the investigation, the suspect hid the explosives and fuzes in a forest belt in the Kharkiv region and later handed them over to the buyer for UAH 120,000.
In July, during a repeat controlled purchase, he sold another batch of TNT for the same amount. Immediately after receiving the money, the serviceman was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
During a search of the vehicle, UAH 120,000 and a mobile phone were seized. The court remanded the suspect in custody with the option of bail. His property was also seized.
