Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has reached the final of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome, defeating world number three Iga Świątek (Poland) in the semifinal match. This is reported by UNN.

In the first set, Svitolina led 3:1; however, she was unable to close out the set at 5:3, but secured a decisive break in the very next game.
In the second set, Świątek leveled the score - 6:2. In the deciding set, the Ukrainian was able to lead the match to victory thanks to a 3:0 run at the start - 6:2 and 2:1 in sets.
Svitolina's opponent in the final of the Rome "1000" will be world number four Coco Gauff from the USA. The match will begin on Saturday, May 16, at 18:00 Kyiv time.
