The world's oldest man died just two months before his 115th birthday. Juan Vicente Pérez Mora managed to survive two world wars and the debilitating Covid-19 pandemic . The death of the man was announced by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in the social network X, reports UNN.
"Juan Vicente Perez Mora from the city of El Cobre has passed away at the age of 114. He set a record in Venezuela as the oldest man in the world. I send my hugs and condolences to his family and the entire city of El Cobre, Tachira. May God receive him in his holy glory!" wrote Nicolas Maduro.
The cause of death was not officially disclosed.
According to The Sun , Juan Vicente Pérez Mora was born on May 27, 1909.
The former farmer was recognized as the world's oldest man back in May 2022.
He leaves behind a huge family of 11 loving children, 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
