The United States, Japan, and South Korea conducted joint air exercises involving a US B-1B strategic bomber. This was reported by Yonhap, according to UNN.

Details

It is noted that the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) reported that these maneuvers were a response to the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile by North Korea last week.

Trilateral exercises took place over the waters east of the South Korean island of Jeju.

During the exercise, allied fighters escorted a U.S. bomber in the area where South Korea and Japan's air defense systems intersect.

As part of the maneuvers, the bomber struck a conditional target, demonstrating its “impressive” capabilities.

Recall

The DPRK fired an unidentified ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan on October 31. The launch came after the U.S. and South Korean defense ministers condemned the DPRK's deployment of troops in Russia.
