It is alleged that Marius Borg Hoiby, the son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, attacked a woman in her 20s and 30s in an apartment in Oslo. The royal house declined to comment and referred to the words of the lawyer.
After Marius left the apartment, the woman called the police. When the police arrived, they noted the damage to the apartment and found a knife stuck in the wall, Scandinavian media reported.
The woman, who was reportedly in a relationship with Marius, was taken to the hospital with a concussion. It is not yet known whether his current girlfriend, Rebecca Helberg-Arntsen, was injured.
Marius was released from custody after 30 hours of solitary confinement in a pre-trial detention center. He was charged with assault and bodily harm. Crown Princess Mette-Marit herself postponed her trip to the Olympic Games in Paris.
