In Ukraine, 134 organ transplants were performed in 15 transplantation centers during the first three months of the year. In particular, 28 such transplants were performed by the National Scientific Center for Surgery and Transplantology named after O.O. Transplantation in 2025. The results of the first quarter confirm that, despite the war, transplantation is developing and saving people. During the first three months of the year, 134 organ transplants were performed in 15 transplantation centers, 69% of which were from a deceased donor. 75 kidneys, 36 livers and 23 hearts were transplanted
28 transplants were performed at the National Scientific Center for Surgery and Transplantology named after O.O. Shalimov. The First Medical Association of Lviv is the leader, having performed 34 transplants in the same period.
The third place was taken by the Institute of Heart of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine with 19 transplants of important organs. The Center for Transplant Coordination noted that an important indicator in the field of transplantation is the number of deceased donors.
During January-March of this year, the most declarations of brain death, which made it possible to perform organ transplants, were in medical institutions in Kyiv, Kyiv region and the city of Kropyvnytskyi
They also noted that during the first quarter of 2025, 103 hematopoietic stem cell transplants were performed in 11 transplantation centers, 19 of them for children. Most patients received such assistance at NDSL "Okhmatdyt" (27), at the Kyiv City Center for Nephrology and Dialysis (17) and the National Cancer Institute (17).

It is noted that there are currently 3,749 patients on the national waiting list. 2372 of them need a kidney transplant, 633 need a liver transplant, 627 need a heart transplant, 53 need a lung transplant, 17 need a "kidney-pancreas" complex, and 11 need a liver-split. Another 36 patients need a "heart-lung" transplant.

At the National Scientific Center for Surgery and Transplantology named after O. O. Shalimov, successfully performed an operation that helped a soldier avoid amputation of his upper limb after a serious mine-explosive injury.
Also, the Shalimov Center performed a complex operation on a patient who was diagnosed with cancer of the right kidney with metastases in the pancreas.
