Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the number of Russian armed forces is planned to be increased to 1.5 million people. He said this at an expanded meeting of the board of the Russian Defense Ministry, UNN reports.

Also, according to him, all plans for manning the army and navy by 2023 have allegedly been fully implemented by Russia, with their number having been brought to 1,150,000 servicemen
Speaking about plans for 2024, Shoigu said that they plan to increase the number of contract soldiers, taking into account the recruitment of new formations, to 745,000.
