Seven people injured in a road accident in Zhytomyr region, including two children: law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the collision involving three cars. This was reported by the Main Department of the National Police in Zhytomyr region, UNN writes.
The road accident occurred on August 7 at around 13:55 on the Kyiv–Kovel–Yahodyn highway, near the city of Korosten. An investigative and operational team of the Korosten District Police Department was working at the scene
It was preliminarily established that a 31-year-old resident of Korosten, driving a Mercedes toward Kyiv, lost control and entered the lane of oncoming traffic, where it collided with an Opel driven by a 58-year-old resident of the Luhyny community. After that, the Mercedes collided with a Volkswagen driven by a 33-year-old resident of Korosten, which was traveling behind the Opel.
Seven people were injured in the accident: the drivers of all three cars, as well as the Opel passengers—a 56-year-old resident of the Luhyny community, an 8-year-old girl, a 5-year-old boy, and a 29-year-old Volkswagen passenger, a resident of Korosten. They were all taken to medical facilities for examination and assistance.
It is known that the 56-year-old Opel passenger was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of a medical facility.
Police investigators have launched a pre-trial investigation under Article 286 (Violation of road traffic safety rules or vehicle operation rules by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
