The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police detained a 16-year-old FSB agent in Kyiv who, according to the special service, "set fire to the cars of the Defense Forces," the SBU reported on Thursday, UNN reported.

The Security Service and the National Police have thwarted new attempts by the FSB to undermine the socio-political situation in Kyiv. As a result of complex measures, an agent of the Russian special service who was preparing a series of arsons in the capital region was detained in the city. It was a 16-year-old resident of the capital who came to the attention of the occupiers when he was looking for quick money in Telegram channels

- the SBU reported.

There, according to the SBU, "a representative of the Russian special service answered him and offered cooperation in exchange for money." "The enemy deliberately recruited a minor and initially set him a test task: to post anti-Ukrainian leaflets around the city," the special service emphasized.

"After completing this 'simple' task, the curator promised the minor 'big money' in exchange for setting fire to military vehicles. A prerequisite for the arson attacks was the video recording of the process," the SBU said.

The special service noted that "the footage was needed by the FSB to prepare information and psychological special operations: that arsons in Ukraine are not carried out for FSB money, but that there is a pro-Russian "underground" in our country, which is trying to disrupt mobilization and help Russia in this way.

According to the SBU, "setting the task to the minor, the Russian curator said that it was not necessary to set fire to a military vehicle, but to any vehicle that looked like a military vehicle.

"After establishing the locations of the two potential targets, the young man first took pictures of them for "approval" by the FSB, and then set them on fire with a flammable mixture," the SBU said.

This was another "test" task for the recruited Kyiv resident - in this way, the Russian secret service was testing his readiness to commit regular arsons in the capital, the special service noted.

The Security Service and the National Police reportedly prevented the realization of hostile plans due to the timely exposure of the Russian agent and his detention in hot pursuit.

During the documentation of the Kyiv resident's crimes, it was found that in case of fulfillment of "verification" tasks, the FSB promised to transfer money to his crypto wallet. But he never received the promised amount, the SBU said.

Based on the collected evidence, the enemy agent was served a notice of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 2 of Art. 258 (terrorist act committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, which caused significant property damage); Part 1 of Art. 114-1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces and other military formations during a special period).

Despite the young age of the defendant, he faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Also, the criminal actions of his Russian curator are qualified under these articles. The SBU has already identified him. In addition, the Russian was served a notice of suspicion in absentia under Part 1 of Art. 304 of the Criminal Code (involvement of a minor in illegal activities).

Since he is on the territory of the Russian Federation, as indicated, comprehensive measures are underway to find him and punish him.
