U.S. representatives are working on concluding a peace agreement in Ukraine, but this can only happen if Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin truly wants to join and cooperate with others to achieve this goal, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte reported on Fox News on June 23, UNN writes.

When asked if he sees an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine and what comes next, Rutte replied: "Well, let's, of course, pray for that."
"And we see that Ukraine is doing well on the battlefields. Right now they are killing and seriously wounding between 30 and 35 thousand Russians per month, and these are, of course, incredible numbers," the NATO Secretary General stated.
And this, according to him, "greatly affects Russia." "We see that the Russian economy is now in a poor state, Ukraine is effectively striking its energy infrastructure, especially oil refineries inside Russia, which, of course, also support the war effort financially," he noted.
"Now Putin is spending almost 50% of the state budget on defense, three-quarters of his tax revenues are spent on defense. And the Ukrainians are really doing well," the NATO Secretary General emphasized.
We need Putin to come forward and sit down at the negotiating table. And again, it was Donald Trump, as president, in February of last year, who broke the deadlock in negotiations with Putin. Witkoff, Kushner, Marco Rubio - they are all working on concluding this peace agreement, but this can only happen if Putin truly wants to join and cooperate with others to achieve this goal, and so far he is only repeating his maximalist promises
