The Prosecutor's Office and the Security Service of Ukraine have notified Russian Colonel General Sergei Kuzovlev, former commander of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation, of suspicion in absentia. He is accused of the strike on Kramatorsk in Donetsk region in June 2023, reports UNN citing the SBU.

The occupiers launched two Iskander-M cruise missiles from the Rostov region. At that time, 13 civilians were killed, and another 56 were injured of varying severity.

The Russian general was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war provided for by international treaties, combined with premeditated murder). The penalty provides for imprisonment from ten to fifteen years or life imprisonment.
