The High Anti-Corruption Court has remanded a prosecutor of the Prosecutor General's Office caught taking a $170,000 bribe under arrest with the possibility of bail in the amount of UAH 4 million. This was reported on Thursday by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), UNN reports.

On July 18, the HACC investigating judge reportedly considered the prosecution's motion to impose a preventive measure on the prosecutor of the Prosecutor General's Office, who was caught on July 15 receiving $170,000 in undue benefit for making a decision to close criminal proceedings and lift the seizure of property seized in the framework of these proceedings.
The court partially upheld the position of the SAPO prosecutor and imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention for 60 days with an alternative of UAH 4 million bail
If bail is granted, the person will be subject to the relevant procedural obligations, including to appear at every request of the detective, prosecutor and court; not to leave the city of Kyiv without the permission of the investigator, prosecutor and court; to notify the investigator, prosecutor or court of any change of residence; to refrain from communicating with witnesses in this criminal proceeding; to deposit their passports for travel abroad with the relevant state authorities; and to wear an electronic control device.
